Subliminal Messages, The Roots of Subliminal Perception

Subliminal Messages

The Roots of Subliminal Perception

Subliminal messages and perception are linked to the idea of mind control, and the roots of this are placed very far back in our history. Mind control is where an individual or group of individuals can be controlled without their awareness. It is perception below the individual's/group's threshold. It is also the idea that people can be made to do things they would not ordinarily do. (Cane)
There are two basic ways in which subliminal messages can be sent to the unconscious- visual and auditory. Since at least the 5th century B.C., the early Greeks created the science of rhetoric as a way of influencing people. By infusing pieces of mind-persuading data into sentences people can be manipulated by the language they use. If they see or hear certain bits of information (i.e. words, fragments, or sentences) placed strategically, a person can be persuaded one way or another (without perhaps knowing). Based on experimental findings in social psychology and the way in which we process information, the effectiveness of subliminal perception has been continually examined throughout history. Subliminal messaging and mind control persists to be under scrutiny, as to whether it is capable of doing what it intends to do on the targeted person.

Subliminal Messages

We have reason to believe that subliminal messaging is effective based on findings in historical contexts. An example of auditory subliminal messaging dates back to the 1920s when the BBC began broadcasting on radio for the first time. The people of the era thought the radio was so sinister, they considered it to be the voice of the devil. The BBC wanted to change this attitude, so they placed certain phrases using backward masking in their jingles. This may be an example of subliminal messaging used to persuade an entire nation to responding other than how they necessarily wanted to. A radio jingle was aired, which sounded completely innocent, but when played backwards it reveals a different (true) purpose. The words "This is not a noose, no really its not." Can clearly be heard. The BBC believed the subconscious could pick up backward messages in ordinary speech. (Cane) The BBC is obviously still around today, so did this jingle serve its deeper purpose?

Public concern about subliminal manipulation can be seen in 1957 when a marketing researcher looked into statistical data. James Vicary claimed to find dramatic increases in the sales of Coca-Cola and popcorn when he flashed the phrases "Drink Coca-Cola" and "Eat popcorn" for 1/2000 of a second during a movie. The statistics showed an increase in popcorn sales by 58%, with an increase in Coca-Cola sales by 18%. (Cane) This is perhaps the shocking information that led to an enormous response from the public. Individuals as well as legislators imagined possible effects of subliminal perception on the future- a world where everyone was subliminally manipulated to do what perhaps the government wanted them to do. (Elliston) In reality though, research on subliminal effects has shown little overall effects in controlled conditions. There is no evidence based in real-world settings done by top researchers on influencing behavior. Also, in 1962, Vicary stated that the study was a fabrication and the evidence now suggests it was. He never released a detailed description of his study and there was never any independent evidence to support what he claimed.

Subliminal Messages

Throughout history, we have looked to political and governmental institutions to examine whether mind control and subliminal perception has been used amongst the general public. The CIA, for example, is one branch of government thought to use this technique in order to gain its authority over large bodies of people. If it is actually effective is up to public opinion of belief and personal reported experience.

The best program for Subliminal messages is Subliminal 360. Below you have a banner link to a unique experience with Subliminal messages.

Binaural Beats, Stimulate your Brain with the Right Sounds to Heal, Pain Relief, Study, Meditate

Binaural Beats

Binaural beats, or binaural tones, are auditory processing artifacts, or apparent sounds, caused by specific physical stimuli. This effect was discovered in 1839 by Heinrich Wilhelm Dove and earned greater public awareness in the late 20th century based on claims coming from the alternative medicine community that binaural beats could help induce relaxation, meditation, creativity and other desirable mental states. The effect on the brainwaves depends on the difference in frequencies of each tone: for example, if 300 Hz was played in one ear and 310 in the other, then the binaural beat would have a frequency of 10 Hz.

Binaural Beats Brainwaves

The brain produces a phenomenon resulting in low-frequency pulsations in the amplitude and sound localization of a perceived sound when two tones at slightly different frequencies are presented separately, one to each of a subject's ears, using stereo headphones. A beating tone will be perceived, as if the two tones mixed naturally, out of the brain. The frequencies of the tones must be below 1,000 hertz for the beating to be noticeable. The difference between the two frequencies must be small (less than or equal to 30 Hz) for the effect to occur; otherwise, the two tones will be heard separately, and no beat will be perceived.

Binaural beats are of interest to neurophysiologists investigating the sense of hearing.
Binaural beats reportedly influence the brain in more subtle ways through the entrainment of brainwaves and provide other health benefits such as control over pain.

Review: The 11 Forgotten Laws, Law of Attraction and The Secret! Bob Proctors top Informative Program

“The 11 Forgotten Laws That Make The Law of Attraction
An Unbreakable Force”

Bob Proctor – one of the key figures in “The Secret”- believes that the Law of Attraction is incomplete, and for the first time reveals the 11 Forgotten Laws that will finally uncover the Law’s true potential.

http://99f945-glnxv7b4dv4y-3c1p5q.hop.clickbank.net/?tid=EQUILIBRIUMLC2

My Dear Mindfullness Friends:

Let’s face it: The current global recession does not seem to be recovering very fast.
Yet, didn’t the movie The Secret offer such hope three years ago? It seemed like a bright future that with millions of new converts to the Law of Attraction, a new era of prosperity and abundance will be ushered in.

Perhaps you are one of them.

You faithfully followed each and every one of the 3 steps. Yet the results you “attracted” were dismal at best. If you have any doubt about that…

Just look at the wreckage around you

The financial system has collapsed. More and more major banks are dropping like flies.
And to make things worse…
You’re the one who’s paying the price
CNN published an article October 7th reporting that 8/10 Americans are stressed out by all these happenings. This year alone, 760,000 jobs will be lost. And that’s just the pre-bailout statistics.
Furthermore, even if you’re prudently saving, it probably feels like an futile effort. On top of that, inflation rates are soaring.

The question you could be having in your mind is:

“Is the Law of Attraction Hype?”

But before I answer that, let me quickly introduce myself.
My name is Bob Proctor.

Bob Proctor, The 11 Forgotten Laws

Perhaps a quote from Doug Wead, former special assistant to the President of the United States, best describes me:

“Zig Ziglar may be the master motivator, Mark Victor Hansen and Jack Canfield of Chicken Soup for the Soul, the master story tellers; Anthony Robbins may be the guru of personal development, but Bob Proctor is the master thinker. When it comes to systemizing life, no one can touch him.”

Review: Wealth Trigger 2.0, reset your Mind, Stop destroy Yourself, Fix your poor beliefs and Start your road to Success

How to safely reprogram your mind

"We've Done The Hard Work For You.
Just Agree To Our Simple Arrangement Below,
And You'll Walk Away With The Mind of a Millionaire"

Wealth Trigger 2.0

Dear friend,
Millionaire's agree: What I'm about to share with you is the secret key you've been missing... the reason you're still struggling. It's the gas that makes the sports car fly. It's the foundation the house is built on... and without it, you won't succeed... period. I've seen thousands of people rise "from rags to riches" ... and I've seen thousands of people remain stubborn and keep failing. So trust me on this: read this short letter carefully, and you'll walk away with knowledge that will finally "set you on track", guaranteed.

It starts with a story...

The Secret To Wealth Is Revealed Here:
Truth is, I tasted "rock bottom" in a way that'll turn your head upside down..
I want you to imagine yourself in my shoes... not with the wealth and abundance I have today... but as the homeless man I was in the late '70's, wandering around Dallas, Texas, living dollar to dollar in constant desperation. Do you think you have it bad? Do you think your struggles are unbeatable? I had it worse...

 Wealth Trigger 2.0

Oh yes, I wanted to be more... and I tried. But I didn't have a lick of confidence in my future. I could almost taste the wealth, and that delicious freedom money can provide... but like you, I kept struggling. I kept failing.

No, you're not homeless, but you and "homeless Joe" likely share something in common. And deep down, you're self-aware enough to know this:

Like You, I Carried This Three-Headed Horse, Stealing Wealth At Each Turn.

This is the first realization you need to hold onto: Three heads... three thieves of wealth... and nothing but struggle and failure to show for it. What are they? Deservingness, Self-Respect, and Secret Hatred. I secretly believed I didn't deserve wealth. I didn't respect myself to put in 100%. And I hated money as a result. I have a feeling you can relate. But what you might not know, is that this is the start of a journey that will take you to the wealth you deserve.
Wealth Trigger 2.0

The culprit? Deep within my mind, buried in my subconscious, I had a clog AND a gaping hole... BOTH of them:
1. First, I was FULL of self-doubt, procrastination, self-sabotage, self-loathing... you name it. All the usual junk... but on a massive scale.

2. I was also LACKING the basic tenants of true wealth... the information and perspective that ALL millionaires have... even if they're not aware of it.

The result was failure after failure, let-down after let-down, and a hopelessness that brought me to my knees. The Three-Headed Wealth Thief was controlling my life. And for a long time, I had absolutely no idea how to fix it. Sure, I knew it was possible. But I was completely lost...

But Then I Found It...

Here's the critical point... and I want you to really think about this. The first step was discovering what wealth TRULY means:

Wealth isn't just about having a bank account busting at the brims, or the immense luxury of getting what you want when you want. But true wealth gives you even better rewards

Wealth Trigger 2.0
  • Wealth makes you effective.
  • Wealth puts a spring in your step.
  • Wealth gives special confidence that only comes from achievement.
  • Wealth makes you fearless.
  • Wealth gives you new appreciation for life.

The Law of Attraction, Explanation and History overview, Napoleon Hill, Wallace D. Wattles and many more

The Law of Attraction

The law of attraction is the name given to the term that "like attracts like" and that by focusing on positive or negative thoughts, one can bring about positive or negative results. This belief is based upon the idea that people and their thoughts are both made from "pure energy", and the belief that like energy attracts like energy. One example used by a proponent of the law of attraction is that if a person opened an envelope expecting to see a bill, then the law of attraction would "confirm" those thoughts and contain a bill when opened. A person who decided to instead expect a cheque might, under the same law, find a cheque instead of a bill.
Although there are some cases where positive or negative attitudes can produce corresponding results (principally the placebo and nocebo effects), there is no scientific basis to the law of attraction.

Albert Einstein

History

Californian author and humorist Prentice Mulford used the term Law of Attraction in his essays "Some Laws of Health and Beauty" and "Good And Ill Effects of Thought," written in 1891.
Thomas Troward, who was a strong influence in the New Thought Movement, claimed in a 1904 lecture that thought precedes physical form and "the action of Mind plants that nucleus which, if allowed to grow undisturbed, will eventually attract to itself all the conditions necessary for its manifestation in outward visible form."
From 1901 to 1912 the English New Thought writer James Allen wrote a series of books and articles, after which his wife Lilly continued his work. Allen is best known for writing "As a Man Thinketh" in 1902.
You were meant for Greatness

In 1906, William Walker Atkinson (1862–1932) used the phrase in his New Thought Movement book Thought Vibration or the Law of Attraction in the Thought World, stating that "like attracts like".[10] The following year, Elizabeth Towne, the editor of The Nautilus Magazine, a Journal of New Thought, published Bruce MacLelland's prosperity theology book Prosperity Through Thought Force, in which he summarized the principle as "You are what you think, not what you think you are."

The book The Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles espouses similar principles — that simply believing in the object of your desire and focusing on it will lead to that object or goal being realized on the material plane (Wattles claims in the Preface and later chapters of this book that his premise stems from the monistic Hindu view that God provides everything and can deliver what we focus on). The book also claims that negative thinking will manifest negative results.
Richard Weiss states in his book, The American Myth of Success, that the principle of "non-resistance" is a popular concept of the New Thought movement and is taught in conjunction with the law of attraction.
Health, Work, Career, Friends, Time, Family

The phrase "law of attraction" appeared in the writings of the Theosophical authors William Quan Judge in 1915, and Annie Besant in 1919. Besant compared her version of the 'law of attraction' to gravitation, and said that the law represented a form of karma.
Israel Regardie published many books with the Law of Attraction theme as one of his prevailing Universal Laws. His book, The Art of True Healing: A Treatise on the Mechanism of Prayer and the Operation of the Law of Attraction in Nature (1937), taught a focused meditation technique to help the mind to learn to heal itself on both a physical and spiritual level. Regardie claimed further that the Law of Attraction was not only a valid method for attracting good physical health but for improvement in any other aspect of one's life.

Napoleon Hill published two books on the theme. The first was The Law of Success in 16 Lessons (1928), which directly and repeatedly referenced the law of attraction and proposed that it operates by use of radio waves transmitted by the brain. Then in 1937, he published Think and Grow Rich, which went on to become one of the best selling books of all time, selling over 60 million copies. In this book, Hill insisted on the importance of controlling one's own thoughts in order to achieve success, as well as the energy that thoughts have and their ability to attract other thoughts. In the beginning of the book, Hill mentions a "secret" to success and promises to indirectly describe it at least once in every chapter of the book. It is never named directly, for he says that discovering it on one's own is far more beneficial. Many people have argued over what the secret actually is, some claiming that it is the law of attraction. Hill states the "secret" to which he refers is mentioned no fewer than a hundred times, yet reference to "attract" is used less than 30 times in the text. Most students of the book claim the secret is hidden in its title: THINK (i.e., thinking the right thoughts).

Napoleon Hill, Think and Grow Rich

After this, the book Three Magic Words (1954) by American author U.S. Andersen became a forerunner of the current claims regarding the subconscious mind and the law of attraction. This work was expanded upon by W. Clement Stone in Success Through a Positive Mental Attitude.
The Secret (2006) was a film based on the law of attraction. It was then developed into a book of the same title in 2007. The movie and book gained widespread attention in the media, from such diverse outlets as Saturday Night Live to The Oprah Winfrey Show in the United States; Winfrey devoted two episodes of her show to discussing the film and the law of attraction, talk show host Larry King also discussed it on his show with Bob Solis, but criticized it for several reasons, pointing to the sufferings in the world and asking: "If the Universe manifests abundance at a mere thought, why is there so much poverty, starvation, and death?"

In August 2008, Esther and Jerry Hicks' book Money and the Law of Attraction: Learning to Attract Health, Wealth & Happiness appeared on the New York Times Best Seller list.

Different Meditation Techniques: A more in depth explanation on various Meditation Techniques

Different Meditation Techniques:

    * Controlled focus:

Classic examples of concentration or controlled focus are found in the revered traditions of Zen, Tibetan Buddhism, Qiqong, Yoga and Vedanta, though many methods involve attempts to control or direct the mind. Attention is focused on an object of meditation--such as one's breath, an idea or image, or an emotion. Brain waves recorded during these practices are typically in the gamma frequency (20-50 Hz), seen whenever you concentrate or during "active" cognitive processing.

    * Open monitoring:

These mindfulness type practices, common in Vipassana and Zazen, involve watching or actively paying attention to experiences--without judging, reacting or holding on. Open monitoring gives rise to frontal theta (4-8 Hz), an EEG pattern commonly seen during memory tasks or reflection on mental concepts.

    * Automatic self-transcending:

This category describes practices designed to go beyond their own mental activity--enabling the mind to spontaneously transcend the process of meditation itself. Whereas concentration and open monitoring require degrees of effort or directed focus to sustain the activity of meditation, this approach is effortless because there is no attempt to direct attention--no controlled cognitive processing. An example is the Transcendental Meditation technique. The EEG pattern of this category is frontal alpha coherence, associated with a distinct state of relaxed inner wakefulness.

Meditation Info

Some techniques may fall under more than one category: Guided meditation is controlled focus if the instruction is, "Hold attention on your breath." But if the instructor says, "Now just watch your thoughts, letting them come and go," then you're probably doing open monitoring--and your EEG would say for sure.

Without the scientific research (or until we have a cell phone app for measuring our EEG and biochemistry), meditative states and their effects remain subjective. Brain research, along with findings on psychological and behavioral effects, gives a more objective framework for health professionals or anyone to determine which meditation technique might be most beneficial for a given purpose.

The Tapping Solution

What is EFT Tapping?
EFT, otherwise known as Emotional Freedom Techniques, is a type of Meridian Tapping that combines ancient Chinese acupressure and modern psychology with startling results.
From pain relief, to healing childhood traumas, to clearing limiting financial beliefs, to weight loss, body image and food cravings, to fears and phobias, Tapping is proving to be a powerful, well-researched and easy to learn and apply technique.
Tapping utilizes the body’s energy meridian points by stimulating them with your fingertips – literally tapping into your body’s own energy and healing power.
Your body is more powerful than you can imagine… filled with life, energy, and a compelling ability for self-healing. With Tapping, you can take control of that power.
I’ll explain exactly how EFT Tapping works and why it is so effective, but before I do that, check out this video, originally filmed for our 2013 Tapping World Summit, which was attended online by over 500,000 people, for a full explanation, along with a visual demonstration on EFT Tapping…

Why Does EFT Tapping Work?
When you’re experiencing a negative emotional state—angry or upset or fearful— your brain goes on alert. It prepares your body to enter a full-blown, fight-or- flight response. This response evolved to mobilize the body to face an external threat-think of a tiger coming after your ancient ancestor. All the body’s defense systems are turned on to support either fighting or fleeing from the danger. Your adrenaline pumps, your muscles tense, and your blood pressure, heart rate, and blood sugar all rise to give you extra energy to meet the challenge.
stressors in ancient days were very real threats to survival. Today, however, the fight-or-flight response is rarely activated by a physical threat. Most of our fight-or-flight responses today are triggered internally. For many of us, the internally generated stress response is triggered by a negative memory or thought that has its roots in past trauma or conditioned learning from childhood. The stress response in the body takes the same form, whether the trigger is the tiger (external) or a negative memory (internal). The adrenaline flows, the heart races, and so on. What tapping does, with amazing efficiency, is halt the fight-or-flight response and reprogram the brain and body to act-and react-differently.
The stress response begins in your brain in the almond-shaped amygdala, one of the components of the limbic system, or midbrain. The midbrain is located between the frontal lobes (the cortex) and the hindbrain (also called the reptilian brain-the earliest, most primitive part of the brain). The limbic system is the source of emotions and long-term memory, and it’s where negative experiences are encoded. The amygdala has been called the body’s smoke detector. “Uh-oh, here comes trouble,” says the amygdala. “Something is threatening our safety.” It signals the brain to mobilize the body in the fight-or-flight response. Tapping on the meridian endpoints helps to deactivate the amygdala’s alarm and sends a calming response to the body, and the amygdala recognizes that it’s safe.
And as I’ll show you in just a minute, research is showing just how powerful it is.

What is Meditation? An Explanation on what Meditation is to better understand this Practise

What is meditation?

Meditation is great for stress management. Remember stress occurs in your mind and that doesn't make it less real. It means your mind is the key to remove stress from your life. You will experience, relaxation, increased awareness, mental focus, clarity and a sense of peace if meditation is practiced regularly.

"Meditation is one of the most natural and yet most profoundly rewarding of all human activities. It connects you with your own inner powers of vitality, clarity, and love. When done deeply, it also connects you with God and His infinite joy." Put simply, meditation is the method of bringing a scattered, disorganised mind into a state of peace, quiet and tranquillity.

The word meditation, is derived from two Latin words meditari and mederi (to heal). Its Sanskrit derivation 'medha' means wisdom. An ordinary person may consider meditation as a worship or prayer. But it is not so. A focus is used, such as a candle flame, a Manthra or the rhythm of the natural breath. The mind will go out again and again, but the meditator gently brings it back to the subject of concentration. Thus, Meditation means awareness. Whatever you do with awareness is meditation. "Watching your breath" is meditation; listening to the birds is meditation. As long as these activities are free from any other distraction to the mind, it is effective meditation.
